B.C.’s Jenn Gardiner re-signs with Vancouver Goldeneyes

Surrey’s Jenn Gardiner is staying in Vancouver for the next couple of seasons.

The team annouced Wednesday (June 19) that Gardiner signed a three-year contract through the 2028-29 season.

She turned down an offer from a PWHL expansion team during phase two of the league’s expansion distribution process. Since it was a foundational player offer, that means she was required to sign with any of the league’s 12 teams during Phase 3, which began at 9 a.m. PT on Wednesday (June 10).

Gardiner, who grew up in Cloverdale, played for the Vancouver Goldeneyes in the Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) in the 2025-26 season. In her 2024-25 rookie season, she played for Montréal Victoire before being traded on June 5, 2025, to Vancouver.

In addition to Gardiner, her teammate Izzy Daniel also received a foundational player offer during Phase 2 that she did not sign.

Daniel will also stay in Vancouver, as she signed a two-year contract through the 2027-28 season.

Gardiner and Daniels are part of the team’s phase 3 protections. Sarah Nurse, Sophie Jaques and Emerance Maschmeyer were protected during phase 1.
