There is a maternity diversion coming to Ridge Meadows Hospital this weekend.
Fraser Health has announced that due to a gap in obstetrician-gynecologist coverage at the Maple Ridge facility, a maternity diversion will be in place from Friday, June 5 at 8 a.m. until Monday, June 8 at 8 a.m.
Expectant mothers who are in labour or have a pregnancy concern are asked to please call the maternity unit at 604-463-4111 before going to the hospital, and staff will direct them to the appropriate hospital for care.
Those with urgent health concerns should call 911.
Since December of 2025, there have been at least 12 periods of maternity diversion at Ridge Meadows Hospital, each lasting several days. Fraser Health has said it is been recruiting specialist doctors to alleviate the problem.
