Juno Award-winning musician Shari Ulrich coming to Maple Ridge

Juno Award winner Shari Ulrich is coming to Golden Ears United Church.

An Evening with Shari Ulrich and Friends will be taking place in The Sanctuary of the church, and will also feature Cindy Fairbank on piano and accordion and Quin Etheridge-Pedden on the violin.

“This is the FIRST and rare opportunity for me to bring my two favourite musicians together – Cindy Fairbank (long time accompanist on piano, accordion & vocals) & Quin Etheridge-Pedden – fiddle player with the Unfaithful Servants. I couldn’t resist,” said Ulrich online.

Ulrich is an American-Canadian musician and songwriter who was born in California, and came to Canada at the age of 18, and pursued a career path in music.

Since then she has released 26 albums, and she won two Juno Awards – one for Best New Group with the Hometown Band in 1977 – after which she decided her main path in life would be songwriting.

Ulrich has a B.C. Entertainment Hall of Fame star at Granville and Robson Streets, and in 2014 she was awarded the Canadian Folk Music Award for English Songwriter of the Year.

Her ninth solo album called “Back To Shore” was released in June 2019.

The concert takes place at 7 p.m. on Sunday, June 7, at Golden Ears United Church, 22165 Dewdney Trunk Road, Maple Ridge.

“If you’re anywhere in the neighbourhood, please do come! If you have any specific song requests (Preferably my tunes! ha ha) please do share them with me,” added the musician.

Tickets are $30, and $20 for youth 16 years and under, plus fees.
