Maple Ridge neighbourhood doubles down on industry kudos

A Maple Ridge neighbourhood scooped up a pair of regional and provincial construction industry awards this month.

The Cameron project, being developed by Paddington Properties, was a finalist in six categories at last month’s Homebuilders Association Vancouver (HAVAN) Awards. It was also up for a few Canadian Home Builders Association Georgie Awards this past weekend, ultimately winning as the best single-family detached home development at both levels.

Cameron features a series of 37 single-family home located in the Albion neighbourhood, situated off 240 Street, between 110 and 112 Avenues.

Offering four different styles of homes to select from, each Cameron house features six to seven bedrooms, legal two-bedroom basement suite, and a two- or three-car garage, on 6,000-square-foot or more lot size.

A majority of the homes in the first phase of Cameron, which includes 14 homes, are already built, with just a few still under construction, said Bry Christopherson, director of sales for Paddington Properties.

She noted 80 per cent of that phase are already sold, and the first of the homes was occupied in early 2025.

The 12 homes that make up the second phase at Cameron should be ready to move into this summer, and planning is underway on the last six homes in phase three of the development, Christopherson elaborated.

Paddington Properties, a Surrey-based real estate developer, has been in business for more than 10 years and completed a number of townhouse and single-family projects in Surrey and Langley. The company also has a few coming up next year in those communities, as well as Coquitlam.

At present, they are still actively selling into the Cameron project, and expect to also launch a 28-unit townhouse project, called Patterson Ridge, in West Maple Ridge in 2027, as well as a 17-unit townhouse development in Haney, called Fletcher, this summer.

“Our Cameron community in Maple Ridge has been recognized for its quality, design, and craftsmanship, and we couldn’t be more excited to be among the best in the industry,” said Pav Sikham, president of Paddington.

Speaking to the awards, Sikham said the industry recognition is “a true honour that reflects our passion for quality homes. thoughtful design, and building communities that last.”

The HAVAN and Georgie Awards recognition for Cameron goes beyond a trophy moment, Sikham said.

“It signals strong demand for thoughtfully designed single-family homes in Albion.”

Christopherson echoed Sikham’s excitement about the awards, saying the entire team is appreciative of the proverbial pat on the back they’ve been given by its industry peers.

“I think it’s a validation of our hard work and dedication. As a newer developer, it’s excited to see some success and recognition,” she concluded.
