IHIT is taking over the investigation of a fatal shooting late Tuesday on the same street where a person was injured in a shooting.
At about 11:34 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, Langley RCMP responded to a report of shots being fired in the 5400 block of Brydon Crescent.
First responders from the Langley RCMP, Langley City Fire Rescue Service, and BC Ambulance Services attended the area and found a person in medical distress.
“Despite life saving efforts, the individual succumbed to their injuries at the scene,” said Sgt. Zynal Sharoom,of the Langley RCMP. “The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been called in.”
Officers will be conducting neighbourhood canvassing and speaking with witnesses to obtain further information.

Around 12:32 p.m. on May 16, Langley RCMP responded to a report of an assault in a building in the 5400-block of Brydon Crescent.
Officers attended and located the victim and evidence consistent with a shooting.
A 27-year-old man was transported to hospital with non-life-threatning injuries.
