Homicide investigators were called to Mission after a woman was found dead inside a Dewdney Trunk Road residence on Sunday night (May 24).
BC Ambulance Service notified Mission RCMP after receiving a 911 call about someone injured inside the residence at approximately 11:30 p.m., according to a news release from the detachment on Monday (May 25).
Upon arrival, officers found the woman dead inside the home, along with a man with non-life-threatening injuries. The man was taken to hospital.
Police say the man and woman were both residents of the home.
“Evidence at the scene led investigators to determine that criminality was a factor in the woman’s death, and as a result, IHIT (Integrated Homicide Investigation Team) has been deployed to assume conduct of the investigation,” the detachment said.
RCMP said initial information suggests the incident was isolated.
IHIT is working with the Mission RCMP, BC Coroners Service and the Integrated Forensic Identification Service (IFIS) to advance the investigation.
