The City of Maple Ridge is organizing a 10K trail run event.
Run the Ridge will be held on Saturday, July 4, through the scenic Grant Hill trail network at Thornhill Park (10390 256 St).
Runners of all levels, aged 16 and over, are invited to take on this outdoor challenge, and experience the natural beauty of Maple Ridge. Signup is available online at mapleridge.ca.
The race will combine forest trails, rolling terrain, and “breathtaking surroundings for an unforgettable morning on the trails,” say city promoters. The event runs from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and will proceed rain or shine.
“Run the Ridge is a great way for residents and visitors to experience our incredible world class trail networks and stunning natural landscapes,” said Mayor Dan Ruimy. “Events like this help showcase what makes our community so unique while celebrating outdoor recreation and connection through sport.”
The cost is $75 to register. Participants will complete a 10-km route through the Grant Hill trail network and receive a full race experience package, including:
• Shuttle transportation to and from Albion Community Centre
• Official chip timing
• Race package
• Post-race photos
• Collectable finisher medal
“We wanted to create an event that highlights Maple Ridge’s outstanding trail network while offering a rewarding experience for runners of all abilities,” said Tara Bardej, manager of recreation. “Whether you’re an experienced trail runner or trying your first 10K, Run the Ridge is designed to challenge and inspire participants while showcasing our beautiful parks and natural spaces.”
