Maple Ridge Community Foundation hosts upcoming golf tournament

The Maple Ridge Community Foundation does a lot FORE the city – including an upcoming FORE Charity Golf Tournament.

The 13th annual tournament will be held at Meadow Gardens Golf Club on June 22, serving as the foundation’s signature summer fundraiser.

This is the 50th anniversary year for the Community Foundation, which is a philanthropic non-profit organization. It provides grants to community groups – over $1 million since 2000. They present big cheques to groups like the Friends in Need Food Bank, Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows Community Services, The Alouette River Management Society and many others. They also run a Community Chest program that gives direct financial support to families and individuals in crisis, to help them overcome setbacks.

And the Foundation hosts events like Citizen of the Year, Dancing in the Ridge, and their summer golf gala. It’s an event that attracts both competitive golfers and those who just want to get outdoors, swing a club, and connect with their community.

Participants get 18 holes of golf on a championship course, a swag bag, a BBQ burger lunch provided by The Keg, Starbucks beverage, and a dinner buffet. There will also be a silent auction and prizes.

Golfers can sign up as a foursome for $1,000, or $250 for an individual golfer who will be placed with a foursome.

The goal for the fundraiser is $80,000. To sign up, or for more information, see mrcf.ca.
