Mayor Dan Ruimy, Maple Ridge firefighters, RCMP officers, and other happy volunteers are taking their turns at the drive-thru window of McDonald’s restaurants for McHappy Day, on Wednesday, May 6.
A portion of all proceeds from every purchase will go to Ronald McDonald House, and local children’s charities, including The Foundry Ridge Meadows.
Ronald McDonald House BC and Yukon provides accommodations for families with sick children needing treatment. Each year they help up to 2,000 families from across the province, including Vancouver Island, Northern B.C. and the Interior.
Last year, McHappy Day raised more than $11.3 million across Canada, which was the new record, and since it started it has raised more than $110 million.
On McHappy Day, support is given to the cause through the purchase of any menu item, by rounding up the total of the order, and through buying McHappy Day merchandise, including socks, hats, hearts and more.
Donations can also be made online.
