Surrey’s JUNO-nominated duo Chani Nattan and Inderpal Moga will headline the free-admission 5X Fest Blockparty on Saturday, May 16.
The annual festival brings a day of entertainment to Surrey Civic Plaza starting at 2 p.m., featuring Desi Frenzy, Supreme Sidhu, Raj Hayre, Simar and other artists.
The 5X Blockparty is “a high-energy celebration of Panjabi music and culture in the heart of Surrey,” boasts a post on showpass.com, where free tickets can be reserved.
“Beyond the stage, immerse yourself in a vibrant festival atmosphere with curated food trucks, a bustling vendor village and thousands of fans coming together in one shared space.”
VIP tickets, sold for $103, promise premium viewing, dedicated space and curated perks, all while being steps away from the artists and the energy of the crowd.
Other 5X Fest events in Surrey include a visit by visual artist Inkquisitive (Amandeep Singh) at SFU Surrey campus on Sunday, May 17, featuring original pieces, a live presentation, and special performances. Tickets start at $25.76 on showpass.com.
“Instantly recognizable for his bold colours, signature ink splatters and layered compositions, Inkquisitive has redefined how identity, diaspora and self-expression show up in contemporary art,” the website says.
The 2026 edition of 5X Fest is the ninth hosted by Vancouver International Bhangra Celebration (VIBC), launched two decades ago. Check 5xfest.com/festival-2026 for more festival details.
