More details about site of South Langley double homicide

Details are emerging about the scene of a double homicide in south Langley, a semi-rural location with a large house that included a basement rental suite, and a barn with horse paddocks and corral.

Online real estate ads show the 19-acre South Langley property in the 21000-block of 16 Ave. had been on the market for about 200 days before two people, an 18-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man were found recently deceased in the house on Monday, April 27.

Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) investigators carried out an extensive neighbourhood canvass, with police activity seen up and down 16 Ave., including multiple vehicles spotted at several greenhouses just east of the crime scene the day after the victims were discovered.

On Sunday, May 3, Cregg Lafferty-Tuccaro, 33, from Alberta, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder. He was next scheduled to appear in court on May 11, 2026.

An IHIT statement said Lafferty-Tuccaro and the two deceased knew each other.

Police said they will not be releasing the victim’s names “at this time out of respect for their families’ privacy, and because it is not needed to further the investigation.”

“This was a tragic incident and our hearts break for the victims’ families as they grieve the sudden loss of their loved ones,” says Sgt. Freda Fong of IHIT.

“Our thoughts are with them as well as the first responders and support workers who responded to this call. Through teamwork and persistence, IHIT investigators gathered the evidence needed to secure charges, which we hope will support the healing of those impacted.”

Neighbour Teresa Townsley, who owns and operates the Festina Lente Estate Winery, said it appeared the property had been marketed online as a short-term vacation rental.

“I’m not sure if it still is,” Townsley told the Langley Advance Times.

“People come and go all the time. We can’t see the house from the road particularly. It’s up in the back of the property. However, in the neighborhood, we regularly hear things like gunshots and screeching tires and things like that.”

According to various real estate listings online, the Campbell Valley location includes a 3,330 sq. ft. two-level, five-bedroom, three-bathroom, two-kitchen main house built in 1973 that includes a one-bedroom rental suite, next to a 2,300 sq. ft. barn with outdoor paddocks and outdoor riding area that was being used to board horses.
