There is an online fundraiser for a Pitt Meadows family who were burned out of their home early Sunday morning, May 3.
The community is rallying around the Adamus family, as they search for temporary housing and work to replace essential belongings. They are Wally, Shannon, Tamara, Calen and toddler Lily.
“Thankfully, everyone is safe, but the family is now facing the overwhelming challenge of starting over from nothing,” wrote friend Christina Crump, who organized the online fundraiser. “With multiple generations affected, the need is especially great as they work to secure temporary housing and replace basic necessities.”

Calen suffered first and second degree burns in the fire, and will be unable to work as he recovers, adding to the financial strain. Photos of his injuries posted online show large blisters on his hand and arm.
“This was more than just a house—it was a multi-generational home, where family lived together, supporting one another and sharing everyday life,” wrote Crump. “In a matter of moments, they lost not only their home, but nearly all of their belongings – clothing, personal items, cherished memories, and essential items for every stage of life, especially for little Lily.”
Their needs include temporary housing, clothing, food, daily necessities, household items, and personal items.
The fundraiser raised almost $6,000 in less than a day. It can be found at gofundme.com, and is headlined “The Adamus Family losing their home to a house fire.”
