July 6, 1962 – March 20, 2026
Debbie was born Debra Lee Thompson on July 6, 1962, at Grace Hospital in Vancouver, alongside her twin sister and lifelong best friend, Dianne Barbara. With only two delivery rooms at the hospital at the time, there is a high probability they were born in the same room as their father, Robert Thompson. A dedicated professional, Debbie worked at Skytrain for exactly 35 years, from July 31, 1987, until her retirement in 2022. She retired to devote more time to her family, providing care for her father and cherishing the freedom to enjoy life’s simple pleasures. Whether she was traveling to visit dear friends or spending sunny days by the pool, Debbie embraced her retirement in the few short years she had. Debbie visited or spoke with her family nearly every day, and they cherished every moment spent in her company. She is survived by her sister, Dianne Lizee; her brother-in-law, Paul; her brother, Robert Thompson; her nieces, Amy and Megan; and her nephew, Justin. Though Debbie left us far too soon, she never left anything unsaid. She holds the unique distinction of being someone who stitched a part of herself into everyone she touched.
