One man is dead and a second wounded after a shooting in Surrey Tuesday evening (April 28).
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has taken over a homicide investigation after a shooting in the 6800-block of 148 Street in Newton left one man dead and a second suffering from minor injuries.
Surrey Police Service officers responded to reports of shots fired into a vehicle at about 6:55 p.m., an SPS press release says.
Upon arrival, SPS officers found a man apparently suffering from gunshot wounds. BCEHS and Surrey Fire Services attended, and the man was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene.
A second victim, another man, was found at the scene and transported to hospital with injuries that are reported to be minor.
No arrests have been made, and at this early stage there is no suspect information available to share, police said on Tuesday evening.
