Alouette Elementary School in Maple Ridge is holding a special fundraiser that will appeal in particular to Swifties, while raising money for the Terry Fox Foundation.
Tickets are now on sale for the Taylor Swift Trivia For Terry event, taking place on Thursday, April 30, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the school gymnasium.
The staff at Alouette have passion both for the global superstar, and raising money for cancer research.
Tickets are $10, and can be purchased at the school office at 22155 Isaac Cres.
Donations can also be made online at schools.terryfox.ca to support Alouette’s fundraiser, and will count toward the school’s fundraising goal.
“In 1980 Terry showed us what courage, compassion and determination look like. Today that example is needed more than ever and we are inspired to join four million Canadian students who are leading the way,” said the school’s online message.
“By fundraising for innovative research our school community is literally changing the lives of Canadians facing cancer. Thanks to your donation, we’re driving cancer research forward, faster than ever.
“Terry started a marathon against cancer and together, we can ‘Finish It.’”
