Langley duplex up for grabs in Hometown Heroes Lottery

Once again a home in Langley is among the 10 grand prizes up for grabs in this year’s VGH+ Hometown Heroes Lottery.

And once again, that local home is in the Willoughby area.

For years now, a Langley home has been in the mix of prize homes being offered up for charity lotteries, be it this one in support of the VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation and the BC Professional Fire Fighters’ Burn Fund, or BC Children’s Hospital, or – through the years – many of the PNE prize homes.

This time out, the Langley home is a non-strata duplex located in the Archer at Latimer project developed by North Arc Properties.

Located in the 19700-block of 75B Avenue, the 2,265-sq.-ft. home features four bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms, and is situated on a one-block quiet residential street next to a nature reserve and close to amenities, said Karey Ireland, North Arc’s sales manager at Archer.

“It is also a 2025 HAVAN award winner for best kitchen and development,” she noted.

The award-winning kitchen features Fisher & Paykel integrated appliances, kitchen island with quartz waterfall edge, quartz backsplash, designer pendant lights and an abundance of storage throughout, said Ireland, who admits the kitchen is her favourite feature in the homes.

“They are unmatched,” she said. “The integrated appliances with the grand window over the sink gives that high-end luxury feel.”

Listing off some of the other home’s feature, she noted there is an upper primary bedroom with a beautiful vaulted ceiling, four-piece ensuite and large walk-in closet. The upper level also offers two additional bedrooms, full washroom, spacious landing with a nook that can be used as a home office, and full-size laundry with quartz countertop. The lower level has more than 700 square feet, with a separate entry and garden view.

This particular prize package also comes with a 2026 Kia Sorento PHEV (plug-in hybrid), $60,000 cash for furniture, and $500,000 in additional cash. Like the other prize packages, this one is worth more than $2.6 million in total.

Asked if she would buy a ticket on this lottery, Ireland admitted she already has, and noted this is first time the company has being involved with a lottery prize package, but it won’t be the last.

The Archer duplex is one of 10 homes up for grabs to one lucky Hometown Heroes Lottery winner.

The other prize homes available are located Vancouver, South Surrey, Pemberton, the Okanagan, and Vancouver Island. And the grand prize winner will also have the choice of becoming a multi-millionaire by opting to take $2.3 million in tax-free cash.

While the Archer project is at the occupancy stage, it’s not the only project the Vancouver-based North Arc Properties has on the go in Willoughby – an area of Langley that Ireland said is taking off.

They are currently preparing for FLOW, an upcoming project that will comprise 74 townhouses and a future condo phase on the west side of 200 Street and 83 Avenue.

Asked why Willoughby has been home to many prize homes in recent years, Ireland believes its strategic location near the Trans-Canada Highway is definitely appealing. But she pointed to the area as a growing retail hub with a mix of stores, sports facilities, restaurants, outdoor spaces, and other options to support a social lifestyle.

“Willoughby offers modern, master-planned living with newer homes, strong schools, and a family-focused community vibe that’s hard to replicate elsewhere in Langley,” she said. “Combine with relative value and continued growth, it’s become one of the most in-demand places for young familes and professionals to settle.”

All prize home packages will be available to view online at www.heroeslottery.com. Plus, the Archer showhome is open to view on weekends between 12 and 5 p.m. at #27-19755 75B Ave.

Last year, the VGH+ Hometown Heroes Lottery raised $5.4 million for health care in B.C.

Tickets can be purchased online at www.heroeslottery.com, by phone, 604-648-4376, or 1-866-597-4376, or in-person at any London Drugs throughout British Columbia. A four-pack of tickets for $85, eight-pack for $150, 21-pack for $325, and 40-pack for $550.

In total, there are more than 2,000 prizes to be won in this year’s main lottery, with a value of more than $3.2 million.
