Nathanial Odorjan: high-risk offender residing in Surrey

Surrey Police have issued a public advisory about a high-risk offender with a history of violence towards women and young girls who will be living in Surrey.

Nathanial Odorjan, 42, is described as a Caucasian male, six-foot-one in height, around 150 pounds, with short, balding brown hair and brown eyes. In the past, he has grown facial hair.

He is currently under a number of court-imposed conditions and is the subject of electronic monitoring, police said.

Odorjan is not allowed to use a computer or the internet to access any social media sites, social networks, online forums, chatrooms, or communicate with anyone who appears to be under the age of 18, unless they are family.

In addition, he cannot be in contact directly or indirectly with anyone under 18, “except when there is incidental communication, contact or presence in a public place where other adults are present,” police said.

He is also not allowed to possess alcohol, illegal drugs, cannabis, or prescription medication (except when prescribed by a licensed B.C. medical practitioner).

He is not allowed to enter any Safeway or Nesters Market stores in B.C. or the 4Twenty Cannabis on Kingsway in Vancouver.

Odorjan is not allowed to have any weapons, including imitation and real firearms, ammunition, crossbows, or explosive devices. He cannot hold a volunteer position or employment that includes being a “position of trust or authority towards a person under the age of 18 years.”

He is also required to wear “electronic monitoring equipment.”

“Investigators from SPS’s Major Crime Unit will continue to monitor and ask anyone who sees him breaching his release conditions to immediately call 9-1-1,” Surrey Police said in a news release Thursday (April 23).
