A BC Highway Patrol statement said at 1:50 p.m., a grey Harley-Davidson motorcycle lost control and crashed in the eastbound passing (left) lane in an area of the highway that is currently under construction, after 248 St.
The rider, a 46-year-old Vancouver man, was seriously hurt, the patrol said.
“In order to fully understand how this crash happened, we need to see more dash camera video and speak to witnesses who saw the minutes leading up to the collision,” said Cpl. Michael McLaughlin with BC Highway Patrol. “At this time, it does not appear that any other vehicles were involved.”
Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) was called in to assist with the investigation.
Highway #1 was closed in the eastbound lanes for just under two hours as police officers conducted their investigation.
