Altitunes debuts at Sun Peaks with sun-soaked après-ski beats

The sun was shining, the weather was sweet and Altitunes had everyone wanting to move their dancing feet.

For the first time, the après-ski music festival was held at Sun Peaks, after originally taking place at Big White Ski Resort for the last four years.

Located just 45 minutes north of Kamloops, Sun Peaks hosted the event over two days, April 3-4.

Gates opened at 4 p.m., with various bars and food trucks located inside, among the main stage.

Kristin Passmore, a Sun Peaks local, said the event was well-organized and that security was very polite; the festivalgoers appeared to be well-behaved.

“It was a great experience, and I was mostly excited for Lost Frequencies,” she said.

Lost Frequencies headlined the event on Saturday night, while James Hype played the last spot on Friday.

Vancouver resident, Dana Stasyk, said she spent most of 2025 going to DJ concerts, but had missed the opportunity to attend to Altitunes until this year.

“It is fantastic here. My friends and I rented a VRBO, and it is great,” said Stasyk. “I was really looking forward to Lavern and Laszewo. The line is amazing.”

The weekend wrapped up with an official after-party at Bottoms Bar and Grill.
