The B.C. Lions are coming back to another sellout in Langford, just not quite as fast as last year.
After a 12-minute sellout in 2025, this time it took only a few hours, with all 6,000 seats at Starlight Stadium gone by 1 p.m. on March 31. Tickets for the May 23 pre-season game against the Edmonton Elks had gone on sale at 10 a.m.

The game marks the third consecutive year the Lions will play in Greater Victoria, and the second straight at Starlight Stadium. Kick off is set for 2 p.m. on May 23.
The weekend begins before kickoff, with the stadium hosting a fan event the night prior. The Friday celebration features Victoria acts Born Reckless and Jaxxee, along with player autographs, a DJ, outdoor games and activities for all ages. Fans who purchased game tickets had the option to add entry for $15.
City officials say the event continues to serve a larger purpose.
“The City of Langford remains committed to activating Starlight Stadium in ways that are meaningful, inclusive and beneficial to our community, and the B.C. Lions return is a strong reflection of that vision,” said Langford Mayor Scott Goodmanson during a March 3 press conference.
Quarterback Nathan Rourke sees the trip as both a chance to connect and reset.
“It’s always great to get to see more of B.C.,” Rourke said. “Especially for me as a Canadian, to be able to show our American friends how beautiful the Island is, but also to be able to get in front of the fans is very exciting.”
The motivation heading into the new season is also clear.
“We have a bitter, bitter taste in our mouth for the way things ended last year, and we’re looking to rebound,” Rourke added. “That’s all going to start here in Langford.”
The Lions open their regular season June 13 against the Saskatchewan Roughriders, the same team that ended their 2025 playoff run in the Western Final.
