Attacker who set woman on fire in Langley sentenced to jail

A woman who set another woman on fire near the downtown Langley bus loop last year will spend another two years behind bars.

B.C. Provincial Court records show that Samantha Elizabeth Florence Hall was sentenced to 731 days in jail on March 4, in addition to time already served since her arrest.

At about 6:30 p.m. on July 12, 2025, a 33-year-old woman was found near Fraser Highway in downtown Langley, suffering from serious burn injuries. She was rushed to hospital and later described by police as being in stable condition.

Langley RCMP said the victim had been “deliberately exposed to an unknown substance” and set on fire.

Hall was arrested on July 15 and charged with aggravated assault. She was held in custody and pleaded guilty on Oct. 21 to the single charge.

According to court records, Hall was also banned from possession firearms for 10 years.

Hall, who has also gone by the alias Jocelyn Jackson, is 26 or 27 years old.
