Maple Ridge film screening of “Oh, Canada” at The ACT this Sunday

A film by Paul Schrader is being screened at The ACT.

“Oh, Canada” tells the story of ailing filmmaker Leonard Fife, played by Richard Gere, who wants to tell his life story, unfiltered, before it’s too late.

As the director of lauded documentary reports, he has much to be proud of, but his avoidance of the Vietnam War draft and his past relationships conceal thorny truths.

When Leonard sits for a filmed interview—with his wife Emma, played by Uma Thurman, present and unruly stories about his younger self, played by Jacob Elordi, unleash revelations about the man behind the myth.

The film is being shown as part of the Toronto International Film Festival’s film outreach program.

There is a content advisory for sexually suggestive scenes.

The show is 95 minutes with no intermission.

Tickets are $12 for the screening of “Oh, Canada” from 3 p.m. to 3:35 p.m. on Sunday, March 29, at The ACT Arts Centre, 11944 Haney Place, Maple Ridge.
