LETTER: Airplane noise progressively worsening

Dear Editor,

[Re: GUEST SHOT – Pitt Meadows airport traffic is booming, March 16, www.mapleridgenews.com]

(letter also shared with Pitt Meadows City council)

I have been a resident of Pitt Meadows for 15 plus years and have noticed a significant increase of plane noise on our property.

When we bought our hobby farm, we knew the airport was near by and we would hear planes taking off.

This had been okay the first few years, but has progressively been getting worse.

The recent article written by Paul Kershaw, with statistics on this, certainly proves this significant change over the recent years.

With the addition of even more hangars being built at the airport, I know this will only get worse.

There should be limitations to curb this growth? As more planes, more noise.

We should have this as a topic so that the public can share our concerns and better understand our controls on noise and pollution created.

Please let me know how I can help share my concerns and get a better handle on this situation.
