Couple that split up meets for 50th annivesary in The Goldens

The Arts Club Theatre Company’s production of the comedy-drama The Golden Anniversaries is playing at The ACT Arts Centre in Maple Ridge this weekend, March 21 and 22.

The plot: Since they got married, Glen and Sandy Golden have celebrated every wedding anniversary by coming to the same cottage for a romantic getaway. This weekend marks a major milestone – 50 years of wedding bliss. Well, mostly bliss… A week ago, Sandy cancelled their big anniversary party and kicked Glen to the curb. Now, he wants to talk.

Audiences are invited to join the Goldens as they recount the good, the bad, and the ugly of spending half a century together.

From the writer of Bed and Breakfast and The Birds and the Bees, The Golden Anniversaries is a comedy-drama about marriage, memory, and a long-term love for the ages.

The Golden Anniversaries, by playwright Mark Crawford, was commissioned and developed by the Blyth Festival and premiered there July 4, 2024.

Performances are March 21 at 8 p.m., and March 22 at 3 p.m.
