Art was born December 29, 1948, in Vancouver, passed away in Port Moody on March 11, 2026. A proud East Vancouver kid, Art attended Simon Fraser University before beginning a remarkable 40+ year career at HY Louie, where his adventures along the Hope-Princeton Highway to Penticton—affectionately known to him as “Tic”—became the stuff of legend and formed the backdrop for countless stories. He is survived by his sons Trevor (Saebom) and Derek (Gina), his granddaughter Emma, and his extended family. Art was a devoted coach and mentor who spent countless hours on the baseball diamond in Maple Ridge with his boys, creating memories and friendships that would last a lifetime. An avid storyteller, he was spinning yarns until the end. A celebration of life will be held at a future date where those in attendance can get an opportunity to tell a few stories themselves.
