MAY 6 1953 – NOVEMBER 30,2025
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Sheila Hope McBean on November 30, 2025, in Maple Ridge, B.C. Sheila was born on May 6, 1953, in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
A loving wife, devoted mother and fun grandmother, she will be dearly missed by her husband of 53 years, Gregory McBean; her daughter Tara McBean, her husband David, and their daughters Avril and Sophia; her son Derek McBean, his wife Kyla, and their sons Nickolas and Michael; her brother Alan Smith and her niece Shaylene. She was predeceased by her parents, Jack and Isobel, and brothers, Murray and Jeff.
Sheila possessed a vibrant spirit and a genuine love for people, always finding a way to connect and converse with those around her no matter where she was. She was fiercely loyal to her family and friends and loved animals, especially her pet companions. Taken too soon by cancer, a disease she fought valiantly for four and a half years.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and doctors at the Abbotsford Cancer Clinic, Maple Ridge Hospital, and the Home Care Nurses for their kindness, care, and unwavering support.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to B.C. Cancer would be appreciated.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 P.M. on March 28, 2026, at Saint John the Divine Anglican Church, 21299 River Road, Maple Ridge.
