B.C. Conservative leader candidate touring province

Another provincial Conservative leader hopeful is making the rounds.

Caroline Elliott says our province is headed in the wrong direction, and that’s why she is running.

Our province is headed in the wrong direction.

“The cost of living is driving our best and brightest young people to look for opportunity elsewhere,” she said. “Our health care system is in shambles and the NDP has put the rights of violent criminals over the rights of citizens to feel safe in their own streets.”

She is currently in the Kootenays and coming to the Okanagan with meet and greets planned up north as well.

Elliott will be in Osoyoos Wednesday, March 18 at Smitty’s at 11:30 a.m. before heading to Penticton for a 2:30 meet and greet at Match Eatery and then in Vernon, at Match again, at 7 p.m.

She will be in Vanderhoof Thursday, March 19 at North Country Inn Restaurant at 11:30 a.m. and Prince George Westwood Public House at 6:30 p.m.

Sylvia’s Cafe in Quesnel hosts Elliott at 10 a.m. Friday, March 20 before she heads to Williams Lake for a 1:30 p.m. meet and greet at the Oliver Street Bar and Grill.

Her tour rounds back down to Salmon Arm Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Mr. Mikes.

Elliott is one of seven candidates running. Langley-Abbotsford MLA Harman Bhangu dropped out of the race Monday to throw his support to Elliott.

The voting period for Conservative members begins on May 9, leading up to the final announcement on May 30.
