In Loving Memory ~
October 30, 1935 to March 6, 2026
We are sad to announce the passing of Myrna Evancic, beloved wife of Roman and loving mother to Kevin (Nelli), Verle (Brian), Trevor (Janet), Dorlyn (Carol). Myrna’s legacy also includes 11 grandchildren and their spouses/partners plus 13 great grandchildren. She also leaves her sister-in-law Stella (Gert),
several nieces and nephews and many friends. Predeceased by parents William & Almeda Sinclair,
her siblings Verle Muirhead & husband Leonard, Robert Sinclair & wife Carol.
Myrna was born and grew up on a farm in the small community of Oak Lake, MB. She became a teacher and taught in a few communities before meeting Roman. They married in 1957. They had four children and lived between Virden and Stonewall, MB, until moving west in 1974, first to Calgary and ultimately Maple Ridge which became home base for the family. Myrna was a lady of grace and style. She kept very active in the community, volunteering in many capacities, playing tennis and making lifelong friends along the way. Although often on the road, wintering in Arizona or travelling with Roman, she was always a devoted daughter, wife, mother(-in- law), grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Myrna turned 90 in October 2025; celebrating with her family and friends was a big highlight for her and all of us. Her home the last few years was Maple Ridge Seniors Village and the family wishes to thank the residents and staff for their wonderful friendship and care. We feel so fortunate to have had her in our lives and miss her dearly.
Memorial service is 1:00 on Saturday March 21 at Haney Presbyterian Church, 11858-216 Street, Maple Ridge, followed by light refreshments at the Church.
