A 23-year-old man has died after being caught in an avalanche in the Kootenay Pass on Saturday.
Creston RCMP said in a statement they were alerted to an SOS activation just after noon when two snowmobilers were injured.
Both men were extracted by other snowmobilers in the area, but one of them died at the scene.
RCMP did not identify the victim, and did not provide an update on the other injured man.
