One person has died after an overnight fatal crash in South Surrey in a water-filled ditch.
Surrey Police Service is investigating the single-vehicle collision which happened at 9:37 p.m. Sunday (Feb. 22) on 168 Street north of 40 Avenue.
Surrey Fire Service firefighters were able to remove the driver — a man in his 20s and the lone occupant of the car — and they, along with BC Emergency Health Services paramedics, administered life-saving measures.
Sadly, the driver later succumbed to his injuries in hospital, an SPS release said.
At this early stage, the cause remains under investigation.
