Ridge Meadows Flames part of new spring league

The Ridge Meadows Flames Junior A hockey team is taking part in a new eight-team junior spring league.

This new competition will be open to athletes born in 2011 to 2007, will have a cap on athletes with junior hockey experience, and the will feature weekly weeknight games, as well as two weekend showcases. It will have a minimum 12-game schedule through the spring.

The plan is to run the league for two months, from April 11 until June 6, and there will be 12 games minimum at Langley Sportsplex and Tilbury Ice Arena in Delta.

The Burnaby Steelers, Delta Ice Hawks, Chilliwack Jets, Coastal Tsunami, Langley Trappers, Port Coquitlam Trailblazers, and Richmond Sockeyes will be the other teams from the Pacific Junior Hockey League in the event.
