Towny Improv will invent a city

A unique imrov event is coming to Maple Ridge on Friday, Feb. 13.

Towny Improv will see people come together to create a city, which will be invented on the spot from audience suggestions. It will be a collage of long and short-form imrovisation with lots of opportunties for audience members to contribute to the show.

Supported by the Maple Ridge Artist in Residence program, the troupe will include the artist Colleen Brown, as well as Kianna Jasmer, Evy Klassan, Lorene Stuart, Robert Walker, Sherrie Yee, Holly Zonneveld, Mark Zukowoski, with special guest, Deb Sears. Joshua Wilson will be the coach, and pianist Peter Tam will be keeping the beat.

Brown is an award-winning sculptor and author from Vancouver, and was the general manager of the Vancouver Poetry House.

The event will be held at the Albion Community Centre (24165 104th Ave.) on Feb. 13 at 8 p.m., and at the ACT Performance Centre (11944 Haney Pl.) on Wednesday, Feb. 18 at 8 p.m. Both shows will be free.
