Garibaldi Secondary music students are gearing up for their annual Dessert and Dance, featuring live big band music.
Just in time for Valentine’s Day, the fundraiser for the school’s music program will feature both Garibaldi Secondary and the Golden Ears Jazz Bands performing live big band-style swing and ballroom dance music.
And, for those who need encouragement to get on the dance floor, a dance instructor from Rock Step Swing will be offering a lesson in swing dancing.
In addition, there will be a selfie photo booth, a silent auction, a variety of desserts to choose from, and a night of fun and dance.
“Strap on your dancing shoes, get your sweet tooth ready and come out for an enjoyable evening,” said music program teacher Rebekah Bell.
The event will be taking place from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7, at the Albion Community Centre, 24165 104 Ave., Maple Ridge.
Tickets are $25 each, plus fees, and includes hot beverages and a dessert of your choice.
They are available online at: www.gssmusic.com.
