David Guetta makes his return to Abbotsford with new EDM show

One of the most popular DJs in the world is making his return to B.C. this spring to be part of the annual Insomnia show, which promises to be a ritual rather than just a party.

David Guetta is the mastermind behind countless chart-topping hits since the early 2000s and has sold more than 10 million albums to date, along with his 30 billion streams on Spotify.

Now, he’s bringing this renowned talent to Abbotsford to headline the upcoming EDM show at Tradex on April 4.

This is not the first time Guetta has performed in Abbotsford, with the French DJ previously headlining the 2024 Insomnia show as well.

It’s not just Guetta that EDM fans can see in Abbotsford this April, with four other artists also scheduled to take the stage at Insomnia.

Audien has been entertaining audiences around the world since 2009, with his most popular tracks being the progressive house remixes of Alex Newell’s Kill The Lights and Halsey’s Colors, which have received 93 million and 79 million Spotify streams, respectively.

His 2014 remix of Bastille’s Pompeii also earned him a Grammy Award nomination for Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical.

James Hype has been living up to his name for two decades now, with the English DJ responsible for a number of widely-streamed songs in the past 10 years.

Hype’s unique blend of house music has garnered him more than 11 million monthly listeners on Spotify, with his biggest hit being his 2022 track Ferrari, which features the vocals of Miggy Dela Rosa.

Oliver Heldens is widely regarded as a pioneer of future house music, with the Dutch artist seeing his biggest chunk of popularity during the second half of the 2010s.

He has released several tracks that have surpassed 50 million streams, with one of these songs being a remix of Hype’s Ferrari.

The only non-solo act in the lineup is the duo W&W from the Netherlands, who explore a wide range of EDM styles throughout their work.

Their remixes have made them a mainstay of DJ Magazine’s top 100 DJs in the world since 2010, with W&W currently ranked at number 18.

Nearly 14 million Spotify users listen to their music every month, allowing W&W to get nearly 615 million streams on their 2023 track Thank You (Not So Bad).

These diverse EDM acts can all be seen at the Insomnia show in Abbotsford on April 4, which features the theme of “Awaken Your Consciousness” and is an all-ages event.

A shuttle service will be provided to and from Vancouver, Richmond, and Burnaby.

The show kicks off at 6 p.m. at Tradex, with the music continuing through the night until 1 a.m.
