Dear Editor,
[RE: Restaurant harassed for hosting Poilievre, Jan. 12, The News]
I wanted to share my thoughts on the recent attacks to a restaurant owner regarding a visit by our federal official opposition leader.
In a democracy, we value the opinions of a variety of political parties; even though we may disagree with them on issues.
Having this restaurant owner being attacked for her hosting this federal conservative political gathering is wrong.
We have to be able to listen to and respect a wide range of different parties perspective on how to run our country, that’s democracy.
Please be respectful of this process and don’t go after a restaurant owner for openness to hosting a political party regardless of their affiliations.
We should be able to hear from all parties on their stances and visions to better our country.
So, a welcome should be extended to our various parties, and listen to what they’re offering us.
