The ACT Arts Centre in Maple Ridge will be hosting a show called Highwaymen – Great Outlaws Tribute, coming up on Jan. 27.
In 1984, Johnny Cash invited Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings and Kris Kristofferson to play on his Johnny Cash Christmas TV Special that was filmed in Switzerland. When they got back to the hotel, they started jamming and hanging out, and that was how the Highwaymen came to be.
The Highwaymen Show pays tribute to the great American Outlaws of Country Music – Cash, Nelson, Jennings and Kristofferson. The show covers all of the greatest hits including “Mama Don’t Let Your Babies Grow up to be Cowboys”, “Always on My Mind”, “Me and Bobby Mc”, and “Folsom Prison Blues.”
The show is billed as a trip down memory lane with the look and sound of these iconic superstars.
