Callups and new Flames help junior squad with third straight

The Ridge Meadows Flames won a third straight game on Wednesday night, Jan. 14, when they beat the Langley Trappers 5-3.

New Flames featured prominently, as Matthew Biros got a goal and an assist and was named the game’s first star, and Nicholas Muc stopped 24 of 27 shots to get the win in net. Biros has a goal and five points in three games since coming from the Port Coquitlam Trailblazers.

And two callups from the Vancouver North East Chiefs also scored. Matthew Dowdall and Lucas Prince both played their first games with the Flames, with Dowdall getting a tying goal and Prince scoring the game winner in the contest.

Sam Allen and Joshua Bettesworth also tallied for the Flames.

With the win, the Flames improve to 23 wins and 12 losses, and sit second in the Tom Shaw Conference.

Next up, the Flames take on the Coastal Tsunami team from Gibsons on Friday night at Cam Neely Arena. The game starts at 7 p.m.
