The public can get details about the city’s plans for an new industrial area.
The City of Maple Ridge is hosting online information sessions about the 256th Street Industrial Lands Area Plan today, Jan. 14 from 12:30 to 2 p.m., and again on Jan. 15 from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Those wanting to watch must register at engage.mapleridge.ca/256AreaPlan.
The sessions will provide an overview of the proposed updated area plan for the north 256 St area, what it includes, and what’s next in the approval process – including the upcoming public hearing on Jan. 20, at 7 p.m., in person at City Hall or online.
Located in northern Maple Ridge, the North 256 Street Industrial Lands are one of the city’s last major areas for new industrial development.
The plan has advanced through the approvals process, and received second reading from council. Third reading is set for Jan. 27, and then the amendments will be referred to Metro Vancouver for approval before Maple Ridge council gives final approval, anticipated in the middle of 2026.
