Tree chipping events in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows

Christmas is tomorrow, but plans for your Christmas tree can be made today.

In the New Year, Ridge Meadows Search and Rescue will be holding their annual Christmas Tree Chipping Fundraiser, which they have been holding for more than three decades.

“This is our biggest fundraiser of the year and we couldn’t do it without you,” said the agency online.

The rescue organization has, once again, partnered with Bartlett Tree Services and Meadows Landscape Supply.

And, if you can’t make it to the Ridge Meadows Search and Rescue building, where the tree chipping will be taking place, the 1st Haney Scout Group will pick up your tree for you – by a minimum donation of $10.

Donations will be split between the Scouts and Search and Rescue.

Tree chipping will be taking place the weekend of Jan. 3 and 4, and then the following Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 10 and 11, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 23598 Jim Robson Way, Maple Ridge.

To arrange for a pick up go to: www.1sthaneyscoutgroup.com, where a form is available to fill out.

This year there is a Christmas Tree Chipping Fundraiser in Pitt Meadows.

Put on by Pitt Meadows firefighters, donations to have your Christmas tree chipped will go to the Pitt Meadows Secondary School grad class of 2026 and the Pitt Meadows Lions Club, and the local youth and community initiatives the Lions Club supports.

They will also be providing tree pickups including all of Pitt Meadows to 207 Street in Maple Ridge.

To get a pickup you are asked to email your address to PMSSgrads2026@hotmail.com.

Trees must be outside by 9 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 3, with a minimum donation of $10 attached.

The fire department has teamed up with Meadows Landscape for this event which will be taking place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 3 and 4, at 17799 Ferryslip Road.
