2 arrested at “problem house” across from Kelowna middle school

The West Kelowna RCMP Drug Unit has caused alarm for residents near Rutland Middle School.

The team conducted a search warrant on Dec. 19 at what police have identified as a “problem property” on Rutland Road in Kelowna, directly across from the school.

“It has raised significant community safety concerns,” said Corporal Achtymichuk. “While on scene, officers were approached by multiple residents who expressed their sincere appreciation for the police presence and actions.”

Two people were arrested as a result of the search. Officers seized controlled substances, cash, and items consistent with drug trafficking.

Officers searched the property as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation. This search was subsequent to a warrant executed on Scott Crescent in West Kelowna on Dec. 11.
