Child’s mobility bike stolen outside Maple Ridge store

An electronic mobility bike was stolen off a bike rack at a Maple Ridge mall that belonged to a child with special needs.

The incident happened on Friday, Dec. 19, at around 1 p.m. outside a store in the 11800 block of 224 Street.

A local resident was able to flag down police officers at around 1:30 p.m., who told them that the bike was stolen in the northwest corner, outside the store.

The bike is described as a black Volt Trio Trike with a car seat on the back and belongs to a child that is depended on the mobility device to get around.

Officers have canvassed the area and are looking at surveillance footage to identity the suspect.
