VIDEO: Crash kills one in Pitt Meadows

One person is dead as a result of a single vehicle crash Saturday night, Dec.6 at the foot of the Golden Ears Way bridge on the overpass at Lougheed Hwy.

According to a witness, a red Toyota RAV4 travelling northbound at the location lost control and crashed into a light standard around 8:30 p.m.

A lone adult female occupant of the vehicle sustained significant injuries. Despite life saving efforts by the witness and emergency personnel, the woman died at the scene. Speed is believed to be a contributing factor in the collision and investigation is ongoing.

The light standard sustained moderate damage and was leaning onto the roadway. Maintenance crews have cleared the debris and all lanes to the Golden Ears Bridge are open to motorists.

Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) were called out to assist with the investigation along with B.C. Coroner’s Service.
