Mission shoplifters nab steaks and sex toys, threaten manager with stun gun

Aggressive shoplifters confronted employees of two Mission stores last week, Mission RCMP say.

According to the detachment’s weekly “Community Connection” crime recap, a man and woman allegedly stole $800 worth of product in the first incident on Saturday (Nov. 22) at 1:30 p.m.

The haul included steaks, a drink dispenser, and sex toys.

Police say the man allegedly threatened the store manager with a stun-gun and customers stepped in to assist.

The detachment is looking to speak with customers who witnessed or assisted with this incident. Those with information are urged to call RCMP at 604-826-7161, referencing file 25-14842.

The second incident came at a grocery store the following day (Nov. 23).

RCMP say a loss prevention officer confronted a suspect and confiscated stolen items. The suspect allegedly responded by putting a hand into his pocket and threatening to stab the employee before leaving.

Per the news release, no one was injured in the incident. Police say an investigation is ongoing.
