Actor needed for upcoming production in Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows

An actor is desperately needed to play a part in an upcoming Maple Ridge production.

Emerald Pig Theatrical Society put out the call for help on Thursday, Nov. 27.

They are looking for a male actor between 35 to 40 years old to play the role of Tucker Dell in their upcoming production of “Five Alarm”.

The comedy by Canadian playwright Kristen Da Silva, is described as a heartwarming tale centered around a missing chili recipe and rival chefs at the town’s annual chili cook-off.

It is being directed by Angela Bell.

The character of Tucker is a sweet, culinary school graduate, and cooking assistant to the antagonist. He provides comic relief in the play, and develops an affection for the protagonist’s cooking assistant.

Bell noted they are not necessarily looking for an experienced actor. The role is open to anyone, even somebody who has never acted before, but wants to give it a try.

“Perhaps this is the moment you’ve been waiting for, something new to come along and help you step out of your comfort zone,” read the post online.

Anyone wanting to step into the role can email Bell at: EmeraldPigdirector@gmail.com, or message by going to: https://www.facebook.com/emeraldpigtheatricalsociety.

“Five Alarm” presented by the Emerald Pig Theatrical Society runs Jan. 8-10 at 7:30 p.m. and at 1 p.m. on Jan. 11, at Heritage Hall in Pitt Meadows.

Then from Jan. 15-17 at 7:30 p.m. and at 1 p.m. on Jan. 18, at Albion Community Centre in Maple Ridge.
