Taseko Mines Limited has issued a statement about a motor vehicle incident involving one of its buses in the morning of Friday, Nov. 28.
At approximately 7 a.m., a bus transporting 18 mine employees left the road on its way to Taseko’s Gibraltar copper mine northeast of Williams Lake, B.C.
“Upon leaving the road, the bus remained upright and came to an abrupt stop,” the statement said.
Eight employees and the bus driver were transported to hospital, but the statement did not say in what condition.
At the time of the incident, the bus was less than one kilometre away from the mine gate. Gibraltar’s Emergency Response Team was the first to respond, followed by BC Ambulance and RCMP.
More to come.
