Maple Ridge Community Foundation creates community impact

Thousands of dollars were distributed to community organizations at the Maple Ridge Community Foundation Funding and Impacts Night.

The event took place Wednesday, Nov. 19, at Burnett Fellowship Church, where grants awarded from both the Maple Ridge Community Foundation Endowment Fund, and from directed funds – these are grants from people who have started their own fund, but the foundation manages the finances.

Former mayor Ernie Daykin hosted the evening that saw 50 guests, including grant recipients, attend.

Grant applications were submitted in September, and then a Granting Committee made up of board members and volunteers reviewed the applications and chose the recipients.

“It’s always nice to have an opportunity to hear the organizations speak about what the funding will be going toward—and then see those project progress in the year ahead,” said Amy Pridday with the community foundation.

“We’re so proud to support the amazing work happening in our community. Thank you to everyone who attended, shared their stories, and reminded us of why we do what we do,” she said.
