Chilliwack RCMP looking for man missing 7 months ago from Langley

Chilliwack RCMP are turning to the public to help them finding a man who was last seen seven months ago.

Darren Robert Spear, 37, was last seen on April 9 at the Gateway of Hope in Langley, but he has a connection to Chilliwack.

The RCMP sent out the missing person report on Nov. 12, saying both police and his family in Chilliwack are concerned for his well-being.

“While it is common for Spear to go lengths of time without contacting family, this length of time is unusual,” Sgt. Alexandra Mulvihill said.

Spear typically frequents Langley, Coquitlam and downtown Vancouver.

RCMP describe Spear as a five-foot-seven-inch tall white man with a slender build. He has short, light-brown hair. It’s unknown if he has facial hair, nor do police have a clothing description at the time he was last seen.

“The report was made to Chilliwack RCMP, in October, by his family who lives in Chilliwack,” Mulvihill later added in an email.

Because Spear is transient in nature, and he has family in Chilliwack the decision was made for Chilliwack RCMP to retain the file, she added.

Anyone who may have seen Darren Spear, or has information regarding his whereabouts, is asked to contact the Chilliwack RCMP at 604-792-4611 and quote file number 2025-43227.
