BC Ferries is warning travellers that two sailings between Swartz Bay and Tsawwassen on Thursday, Nov. 6 may be cancelled due to high winds in the forecast.
The 3 p.m. departure from Tsawwassen and the 5 p.m. sailing from Swartz Bay are at risk, the company said Wednesday (Nov. 5).
BC Ferries said the Spirit of British Columbia is currently operating under precautionary limits following a recent mechanical issue. When weather conditions approach or exceed a vessel’s operating limits, sailings may be delayed or cancelled to ensure safety.
Crews are monitoring the situation and will provide updates as conditions change. Customers with bookings on affected sailings will be contacted directly and offered a refund or alternate sailing.
