Avian influenza discovered at Salmon Arm commercial poultry operation

Avian influenza has been detected at a commercial poultry operation in Salmon Arm.

The infection was discovered on Saturday, Nov. 1, according to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), which has yet to provide further information on the outbreak.

Excluding the Salmon Arm case, the CFIA has found avian influenza outbreaks at 13 commercial poultry operations in B.C. since Oct. 14, 2025. The majority of those cases have been in the Lower Mainland.
