A night of celebration, comedy, and community is coming to Maple Ridge.
Stand Up For Recovery is a stand up comedy show that features comedians and musicians from all walks of life to support the fun in recovery from drug addiction, and to bring the laughter back into lives.
The evening will be hosted by Mark Smith, a stand-up veteran of two decades. Smith is known for his high energy shows and he has performed in clubs across the country.
Headlining the evening will be Larke Miller, with special guests Melanie Rose, Richard Lett, and Alex Suarez.
Miller is a comedian, actress, and filmmaker based out of Vancouver.
She first started performing stand-up comedy in Los Angeles and was selected as a Los Angeles finalist on NBC’s Last Comic Standing. She also performed on The Late Late Show on CBS, was featured in a Comedy Now special for CTV’s Comedy Network, as well as two CBC comedy specials for the Winnipeg Comedy Festival.
Miller’s work can be seen on the Netflix series “Scaredy Cats”, and in the upcoming film “Air Bud Returns”.
Musician Lisa Chase will be performing along with lyricists: KeHill, Marcelle, and DerekJames.
Chase is known for her telling of intimate and emotional stories through her warm voice, piano, and guitar.
Stand Up For Recovery takes place from 7-9 p.m. on Saturday, April 18, at the One Way Club Society, 22270 North Ave., Maple Ridge.
Doors open at 6 p.m. and tickets are $20 each.
